Tasting of Aphros Yakkos, Aphros Brut Loureiro, Phaunos Pet nat white, Phaunos Pet nat rosé

Guided visits are offered beginning with an overview of landscape and vines leading to an introduction into biodynamic principles viticulture, soil works, cover crops and treatments.

These will be which will be further detailed in a room where preparations and plant extracts can be seen.

It continues with a visit to the modern cellar, a winemaking atelier in cast concrete designed by Carvalho Araújo, worth visiting for the beauty of its contemporary architecture alone, harboring the variety of equipment (lagares, stainless and concrete vats, barriques) behind Aphros wide range of wines .

The last stop is a medieval cellar created in the basement of one of the old stone buildings of the Quinta, where wine is made in Portuguese traditional amphorae using exclusively primitive man powered tools: an artisanal de-stemmer, a vertical press, a hand pump, buckets, a wooden hammer and much enthusiasm are all the equipment needed.

Tastings take place in the old stone house bordering the length of the patio, fully renovated for the purpose as an open space with a bistro atmosphere.

This central building opens to the terrace and garden on the South, and to the patio on the North, side, creating leisure spaces that extend the social area into the open air and allow for different ambiances and activities.

Meals and snacks offered are sourced primarily with fresh products from our own vegetable garden created for the purpose, in a farm-to-table philosophy, complemented with others from organic producers and artisans.
